IAGC Announces New President

Houston, TX. After a three-month long search process, the International Association of Geophysical Contractors (IAGC) Board of Directors today announced that Ken Wells has been named as the organization’s president. Mr. Wells come to IAGC with a diverse career that includes oil and gas safety consulting and association management. He will assume his position on October 1st.

“After conducting a broad national and international search, we believe in Ken we have found a powerful leader with a wealth of knowledge, skills and ability,” said Robert Hobbs, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Ken’s experience in both the energy industry and association management and his understanding of the issues important to our industry will ensure our continued success. It is clear to our board that Ken is the right person at the right time to lead our organization.”

“I am honored to have been chosen to lead IAGC into the next exciting era. I look forward to working alongside an extremely dedicated and talented team at IAGC in carrying out our mission,” said Wells.

Mr. Wells is the founder of Lifeline Strategies, a safety and regulatory management consulting company serving the oil and gas industry. He is also the former President of the Offshore Marine Service Association (OMSA), representing the U.S. oil and gas workboat industry and the Vice President of the American Waterways Operators, representing the U.S. tug boat and barge industry. Prior to that he was an award-winning television reporter in New Orleans, LA and Tulsa, OK.
