The 2013 IAGC Annual Meeting was held on Tuesday, February 19 at the Norris Conference Center in Houston, Texas. Nearly 200 member company representatives, E&P company personnel and friends of the seismic industry registered for the meeting – the most in several years.
In addition to the election of IAGC officers and Directors, Tommy Beaudreau (Acting Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management, Department of the Interior and Director, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management) was the keynote luncheon speaker; Dr. David Monk (President, SEG and Director of Geophysics, Apache Corporation), and John Olaisen (Senior Financial Analyst, ABG Sundal Collier) provided timely remarks during plenary sessions.
The agenda for this annual meeting included a panel session focusing on the environmental challenges of geophysical operations as well as concurrent breakout sessions – one addressing subsurface imaging challenges and the other addressing security challenges in geophysical operations.
The new Directors of IAGC were unanimously elected by the membership. Additionally, new officers include Robert Hobbs (TGS) as IAGC Chairman, Hans Christian Vaage (CGG) as Past Chairman, Carlos de la Garza (CGG) as Treasurer and Chip Gill (IAGC) as President.
