The long awaited, and often asked for, G&G Permit Workshop with BOEM has finally been scheduled, either for 26 June 2013. It will be held in New Orleans but plans are being made to broadcast it in Houston, Texas so that as many IAGC member company representatives and E&P Company personnel can participate and benefit. The exact date will be confirmed soon and an announcement will be sent to IAGC members.

BOEM has provided IAGC members a high-level outline of the topics it will cover during the workshop. These include:

  • General overview of G&G permitting
  • Detailed overview of G&G data and information requirements
  • Detailed overview of Site Specific Environmental Assessments
  • Overview of Archeological review and requirements
  • An update on the GOM EIS
  • An update on the Atlantic EIS and Atlantic G&G permitting

The workshop will originate from WesternGeco’s New Orleans office with BOEM personnel, and a small group of IAGC member company representatives participating there. Those not traveling to New Orleans will convene at WesternGeco’s offices in Houston. Tentatively the workshop will last 5 to 6 hours, beginning around 9:30 am with a break for lunch.

IAGC staff will provide additional information at a later date. If you have any questions, please contact Walt Rosenbusch – IAGC, VP.
